We’re Excited to Meet You!
The American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend a child’s first dental visit within six months of that first tiny tooth making its debut – or by their first birthday. Some little smiles need a visit even sooner, and we’re always happy to welcome children of all ages, from gummy grins to toothy smiles!
Little Sprouts
Ages 3 & Under
We love seeing our tiniest patients early! We recommend a child’s first dental visit by age one to help set the stage for healthy smiles. These visits are gentle, low-pressure, and focused on education and reassurance for parents. While your little one explores, plays, or snuggles in your lap, we’ll review brushing habits, nutrition, oral development, and answer any questions you may have.
Early visits help children grow comfortable with the dental office and allow us to support healthy habits from the very beginning. Tears are okay, wiggles are expected, and smiles come with time – we’re here every step of the way.

Kiddos Over Age 3
We’re so happy you’re here! Many families choose our practice because we blend evidence-based pediatric dental care with a welcoming, positive experience – plus the added benefit of early orthodontic guidance as smiles grow.
Visits often begin with one of our skilled dental assistants, who focuses on preventative care, education, and helping kids feel at ease in the dental chair. Using age-appropriate coaching and encouragement, we teach children how to care for their teeth while keeping visits light, engaging, and fun.
As children grow, we support their developing smiles by building confidence, independence, and healthy habits – while also monitoring growth, bite, and alignment. Together, this sets the foundation for strong oral health and confident smiles for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a dentist within six months of their first tooth, or by their first birthday – whichever comes first. Early visits help prevent cavities and allow children to become comfortable in a dental setting.
Pediatric dentists receive specialized training in caring for infants, children, teens, and children with special healthcare needs. Our office is designed to be welcoming and fun, and our team is trained in gentle techniques that help children feel safe and confident. Pediatric dentists receive an additional 2 years of specialized training beyond dental school in caring for infants, children, and teens.
First visits are usually short and positive. We focus on: getting to know your child, gently examining the teeth and gums, cleaning if appropriate and reviewing home care and nutrition with parents. Our goal is to create a happy, stress-free introduction to dental care.
Most children should be seen every six months for routine checkups and cleanings. Some children may need more frequent visits depending on their oral health and risk for cavities.
You’re not alone – many kids feel this way! We use age-appropriate language, positive reinforcement, and gentle techniques to help children feel at ease. We take things at your child’s pace and always prioritize comfort.
Yes! Baby teeth help with: proper chewing and nutrition, speech development and holding space for adult teeth. Healthy baby teeth support a healthy smile for life. The last few baby teeth can sometimes still hang around until age 12 to 13!
Cavity prevention includes: brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing once teeth touch, limiting sugary snacks and drinks and attending regular dental visits. We also offer preventive treatments like fluoride, sealants, and minimally invasive options when appropriate.
If treatment is recommended, we’ll explain all options clearly and answer your questions. Our focus is always on conservative, minimally invasive care and choosing what’s best for your child’s comfort and long-term health.
We work with many dental insurance plans and are happy to help you understand your benefits. Our team will review costs and options with you before treatment.
Yes – parental presence is welcome. For some children, independence can build confidence, and we’ll always discuss what works best for your child and your family.
Insurance
Insurance can feel like learning a new language 🤓 – and while we’re happy to help translate! We kindly ask our patients to be familiar with their own insurance plans and benefits. Our friendly team works hard to assist you in understanding your coverage and will always do our very best to help you maximize your benefits.
Please keep in mind that insurance estimates are just that – estimates. Any quoted copays are not guaranteed and are provided as a courtesy.
At the end of the day, our relationship is with you, not your insurance company. All treatment fees remain the patient’s responsibility, even if insurance benefits differ from the original estimate.
